Honors CampHonors Summer Camp

Discover the diverse and academic strengths that IPFW has to offer during this one week immersive interdisciplinary Honors Camp, from July 30th - August 4th, designed for academically talented high school students. Interact with other high achieving students from across the state, while working in small groups with some of the best IPFW faculty. During Honors Summer Camp, you'll even have the opportunity to experience the cultural offerings of Fort Wayne.

This opportunity may be for you if you:

  • Are still deciding where to apply to college
  • Want to learn more about different academic disciplines and majors
  • Want a networking opportunity
  • Want to earn college credit

What can I expect?

Some of the activities and topics you'll explore may include:

  • Biology field trip
  • Geology field trip
  • Art or Theater
  • Economics and Business
  • International Cultures
  • History
  • Political Science
  • Media and Communication 

Evening activities may include:

  • Tincaps game
  • Visit to the Fort Wayne Art Museum
  • Karaoke Night
  • Game Night

Who is eligible?

High school juniors who meet the Honors Program eligibility requirements. If the student applying is not enrolled in Collegiate Connection, he/she will also need to apply to IPFW as a high school student, along with the summer camp application.

Students who do not meet the eligibility requirements, but are interested in participating may require additional application materials, and should contact the Honors Program directly before applying.

What is the cost?

The cost to attend the Honors Camp is $273.75, which includes housing, tuition and meals. Fee waivers are available for those who qualify for free or reduced lunch programs.

When is it? 

Honors camp begins on July 30th and runs through August 4th.

How many college credits can I earn?

The program is worth 1 credit hour.

Is there a deadline to apply?

Yes, the priority deadline is March 27th. The final deadline to apply is May 26th.

I am interested in coming. What do I need to do? 

You will need to submit the application and complete a short (800 words or less) essay using the prompt "Why are you interested in this program and what do you hope to gain from it?"
