Summer Research Support Program

2017 Summer Research Support Recipients


The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) Undergraduate Summer Research Support Program supports the efforts of IPFW undergraduate students who are engaged in faculty-mentored research and creative activities.


All IPFW undergraduates engaged in faculty-mentored research or creative activities are eligible.


Successful applicants will receive $1,000 (paid directly to student) to support their research during the summer.

Application Process

All applicants must submit an Application Form, the project description, and letters of recommendation from both the faculty mentor and the department chair.

The project description is limited to three (3) pages and should contain:

  • the hypothesis and/or goal of the project
  • how the work will be accomplished
  • how the results will be publicized/presented
  • any other sources of support for the proposed work

Figures, illustrations, and references should be included in the project description as appropriate.

Submit completed applications as a single PDF file to Proposals are due no later than 3:00 pm on March 30, 2018.

Letters of recommendation may be submitted as separate PDFs but must be received by the 3:00 pm deadline in order for the application to be considered complete. 


Successful applicants are required to submit a one page report of research activities no later than October 1 following the period of the grant.
