Welcome New Freshmen!

It is an exciting time to be at IPFW and your choice to be a #newdon15 couldn't be better! We are excited to welcome you to campus and have a two-step New Student Orientation process to provide you the foundation you need to connect you with your campus, learn how to access important resources, have some fun, build your Fall Semester schedule and get you on a successful path towards graduation!

All facets of Orientation are mandatory for all first-year students, who are transferring 29 or fewer credit hours, so make arrangements and plans today and we will see you soon!

Orientation Step 1: Advising & Registration Day

This is a half day session (AM or PM) where you come to campus, take your student ID card picture, meet with an academic advisor, learn about important university resources, dates and policies and register for Fall Semester courses. Sessions are 8:00-12:00 or 1:00-5:00.

Session availability is based upon your intended major that you indicated on your Admissions application. If you want to change your major, you must do so before selecting your session. In order to change your major, please fill out the New Student Major Change Form.  Please allow 24-48 business hours for this change. If you don't remember your major, check your log on to your myIPFW, click on the "Enrollment" tab and locate your major or undeclared status in the Academic Profile box. Please check that the major has changed before you sign up for your Advising/Registration Session.  If you are a Conditional admit, you will be advised through the Mastodon Advising Center and cannot declare your major at this time.

To get started:

1. Activate your My.IPFW account.

2. Click on the Enrollment Tab to complete required placement tests (note that placement tests must be completed 24 hours before your Advising & Registration Day).

3. Complete your Writing Guided Self Placement Test.

4. View your Reading Placement.

5. Schedule your Math Placement and foreign language placement tests (if required) with Testing Services.

6. Click on this link to Sign up for Advising & Registration Day. By logging in here, you will find your specific list of session dates to choose from to come to campus, meet your advisor and register for fall classes.
