Transfer Students in the U.S.

TRANSFER APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS FALL 2018

Requirements:

Completed Common Application or Transfer Application

Proof of English Proficiency:

NOT REQUIRED if the student has successfully completed college level English composition at an accredited institution (no ESL courses)

 

Required for students whose native language is other than English. Official score reports from any one of the following tests must be submitted directly to IPFW from the testing agency:

  • TOEFL: 79
  • IELTS: Minimum 6.5 Overall Band Score
  • SAT: 25 Reading
  • SAT (prior to 05/2016): 450 Critical Reading
  • ACT: 20 Composite
  • GCSE/IGCSE/Advanced Level First Language English: Minimum grade “C” or above
  • PTE Academic: 58
  • ELS Language Center: Completion of level 112
  • Students attending US High Schools:
English proficiency testing requirement may be waived if the last two years of regular (not ESL) HS English have been completed with grades of “C” or above.

Transcripts:



Official transcripts from U.S. college or university

  • If less than 30 credit hours have been completed, official secondary school records must be submitted in addition to University level transcripts.

GPA Requirement:

  • 2.50 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale from all universities attended

Transfer of College/University Credit:

Course descriptions are not required for classes completed at a U.S. college or university. Detailed course descriptions in English are required for transfer of credit from any prior course work completed at a college or university outside of the U.S. Transfer credit evaluations will be completed after a student has been admitted and confirmed enrollment at Purdue Fort Wayne.

 

Scholarships:

$7,500.00 Tuition Award Per Year - No Application Required

     Requirements:

Completion of 30 credit hours or more with college level English and math (no ESL courses)

                        AND

Minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

     Scholarship Renewal: Up to 3 years. Student must maintain satisfactory academic progress while enrolled
