There are many activities to keep students busy outside of the classroom when they need a study break. Listed below are some of our favorites:
There are a variety of sporting events that take place at the Coliseum. You cannot beat the commute because it is less than five minutes from Student Housing. The Komets, our minor league hockey team, play here, as well as, the Mad Ants basketball team, Women's Roller Derby, the Firehawks Arena Football team, and IPFW Mastodon events. You can also catch a concert, the circus, a Monster Truck Show, or check out a hobby-related show. View full list of what is going on at the Memorial Coliseum.
Glenbrook Shopping Mall and Northcrest Shopping Center are both only a short commute from Student Housing. You can find a variety of shops and restaurants in the area off of Coliseum Blvd to satisfy the pickiest of tastes. Shops and restaurants range from local Fort Wayne delicacies to major franchises. If you are looking for suggestions or directions, feel free to stop by the front desk for more information.
Whether you are interested in walking, hiking, biking, or other activities, Johnny Appleseed Park has them all. It also hosts the annual, prestigious Johnny Appleseed Festival. Do not miss out!
One of our favorite places to visit in the community is our roller skating rink. Laser Tag comes in a close second and then there is always the back-up plan to go to a movie, local bowling alley and arcades.
