University Scholarships

IPFW Academic Scholarships

The IPFW Academic scholarships are awarded to incoming freshman students who meet specific criteria. No application is required, students who qualify will be notified by the IPFW Admissions Office.

IPFW Excellence Scholarship

For all in-state beginning students (Students from Ohio Reciprocity Counties Eligible)

  • $4,000 Tuition Award
  • No application required

Criteria

  • Indiana Core 40, Academic Honors, Technical Diploma or college preparatory curriculum (if student is from reciprocity county) at a state-accredited high school
  • A minimum SAT score of 1380 on a SAT test taken in March 2016 or later.  If you took the test before March 2016, you need a minimum SAT score of 1950.  The minimum ACT score for consideration is 29.
  • High school GPA 3.2 on a 4.0 scale

Requirements for Scholarship Renewal

The Excellence Scholarship can be renewed up to four years of undergraduate studies if students do the following:

  • Maintain full-time status*
  • Complete 30 credit hours towards your degree annually
  • Achieve and maintain satisfactory academic progress each term

*Full-time status is 12 credit hours for undergraduates.  Students who complete 12 credit hours in the fall and spring and do not take summer courses will not meet the annual 30 credit hour requirement.

IPFW Dean's Scholarship

For all in-state beginning students (Students from Ohio Reciprocity Counties Eligible)

  • $1,000 Tuition Award
  • No application required

Criteria

  • High school GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

The Dean's Scholarship can be renewed up to four years of undergraduate studies if students do the following:

  • Maintain full-time status*
  • Complete 30 credit hours towards your degree annually
  • Achieve and maintain satisfactory academic progress each term

*Full-time status is 12 credit hours for undergraduates.  Students who complete 12 credit hours in the fall and spring and do not take summer courses will not meet the annual 30 credit hour requirement.

IPFW Achievement Scholarship

For all in-state beginning students (Students from Ohio Reciprocity Counties Eligible) who meet the following criteria:

  • $500.00 Tuition Award
  • No application required

Criteria

  • Indiana Core 40, Academic Honors,Technical Diploma or college preparatory curriculum(if student is from reciprocity county at a state-accredited high school
  • A minimum SAT score of 1190 on a SAT test taken in March 2016 or later.  If you took the test before March 2016, you need a minimum SAT score of 1650.  The minimum ACT score for consideration is 24.
  • No Rank or GPA Requirement

Requirements for Scholarship Renewal

The Achievement Scholarship can be renewed up to four years of undergraduate studies if students do the following:

  • Maintain full-time status*
  • Complete 30 credit hours towards your degree annually
  • Achieve and maintain satisfactory academic progress each term

*Full-time status is 12 credit hours for undergraduates.  Students who complete 12 credit hours in the fall and spring and do not take summer courses will not meet the annual 30 credit hour requirement.

Out of State Scholarship Criteria

(excludes students from reciprocity counties)

IPFW Merit Scholarship

For out-of-state beginning students and transfer students who meet the following criteria (Students from Ohio Reciprocity Counties are not Eligible):

  • $7,500.00 Tuition Award
  • No Application Required

High School Criteria:

  • A minimum SAT score of 1290 on a SAT test taken in March 2016 or later.  If you took the test before March 2016, you need a minimum SAT score of 1800.  The minimum ACT score for consideration is 27.
  • High school GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Transfer Student Criteria:

  • Completion of 24 transferable credit hours
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Requirements for Scholarship Renewal

The IPFW Merit Scholarship can be renewed up to four years of undergraduate studies if students do the following:

  • Maintain full-time status*
  • Complete 30 credit hours towards your degree annually
  • Achieve and maintain satisfactory academic progress each term

*Full-time status is 12 credit hours for undergraduates.  Students who complete 12 credit hours in the fall and spring and do not take summer courses will not meet the annual 30 credit hour requirement.
