FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Northeast Indiana business leaders will be coming together March 19–21, 2014 for the annual Applied Leadership Series of Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). The event will involve area managers seeking to develop their leadership skills and regional business experts to facilitate various discussions ranging from strategic leadership to sales and marketing and business financial strategies.
The keynote speaker will be Keith E. Busse, co-founder and chairman of Steel Dynamics, Inc., who will speak on Wednesday, March 19, at 1 p.m. The series will meet at the IPFW Alumni Center, which bears the name of the keynote speaker. Presentations will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
IPFW’s Applied Leadership Series, in its third year, is designed to develop the leadership skills of the manager who is energetic, visionary, and ready to move up to a new level of performance with a commitment to the future of the company. The series will kick off at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, with morning sessions on Strategic Leadership and Leading Change. A noon lunch will be followed by Busse’s keynote presentation and a session on Leading Innovative Thinking. The day’s activities will culminate with a networking reception from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., sponsored by Lake City Bank.
On Thursday, March 20, the morning topics will be Sales Leadership, Customer Relations, and Financial Impact of Business Strategy, and the afternoon will address Legal Challenges. The topics on Friday, March 21, will be on Marketing and Leading the Talent Mandate in the morning, followed by an afternoon session on Linking Strategy and People.
