IPFW Hosts Presentation with Date Rape Activist Katie Koestner

FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) will host a presentation by date rape activist Katie Koestner on Thursday, September 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Walb Student Union Classic Ballroom.

Koestner has been speaking about student safety and teen relationship culture since 1991, when, at the age of 18, she spoke out nationally as a survivor of date rape. She has been on the cover of TIME Magazine, a guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show, and worked with HBO on a documentary about her story. She has also made appearances on NBC Nightly News, Good Morning America, and CNN, and been interviewed for stories in The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, and The Washington Post.

Koestner has been on more than 50 national television programs and spoken at more than 1,700 college and school campuses.

Koestner will be available for media interviews 15 minutes prior to the event and immediately after.
