FORT WAYNE, Ind.—In 2008, Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) became the first Summit League school to hold a Pink Out event in support of breast cancer research and awareness programs. Since that first event, thousands of dollars have been raised for research and awareness, and scores of breast cancer survivors have been recognized for winning their battles against the disease.
Details of the 7th Annual Pink Out will be released at a news conference Monday, January 27, at noon in Kettler Hall, Room 154.
Featured speakers at the news conference will include Vicky Carwein, chancellor; Kelley Hartley Hutton, interim athletics director; and Catherine Hill, executive director of the Vera Bradley Foundation.
Breast cancer survivors are invited to attend the Pink Out luncheon and basketball game free of charge; tickets for all others will be $20. Details on how to sign up for the event will be released at the news conference.
Members of the media are encouraged to cover the news conference so details about Pink Out and how to sign up for it reach as many breast cancer survivors as possible.
