FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Heart disease is still the No. 1 killer of women, taking the life of 1 in 3 women each year. This means women just like you—mothers, sisters, friends—are dying at the rate of one per minute because they don't know what you know: heart disease kills.
The nursing department from Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) is partnering with Parkview Hospital to host Go Red For Women®. Go Red For Women celebrates the energy, passion, and power we have as women to band together to wipe out heart disease and stroke.
On Friday, February 7, students from IPFW and nurses from Parkview Hospital will provide screenings and education for women's heart health. Free blood pressure and glucose screenings will be provided as well as education about maintaining a healthy blood pressure and heart healthy diet. The event will take place at Glenbrook Square Mall near Macy's department store from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Women of all ages are welcome.
