FORT WAYNE, Ind.— FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Lunch with an IPFW Scientist at Science Central, Saturday, December 8, features a presentation by Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) physics instructor Jacob Millspaw that includes things all kids love: robots and Lego® building blocks.
Millspaw will present “Investigate with Lego® Robots,” where children will make discoveries about science and investigations which will lead them to a set of robot-related activities. These activities may include running an obstacle course along with doing actual physical investigations related to light and sound with the sensors from the NXT robots.
Lunch with an IPFW Scientist is held at Science Central, 1950 N. Clinton, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The program is open to the public at a cost of $16 per person; $10 for Science Central members. Lunch is included.
The Lunch with an IPFW Scientist Series is designed for families with children aged 8 to 14; it plants in both the young and most seasoned participant a budding interest in science. After each presentation, which includes a hands-on activity, participants enjoy lunch with the presenter. Advance reservations are required.
