FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) criminal justice students are getting involved in the local northeast Indiana community by participating in an event for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Sixty students will take part in the YWCA's "Chalk it Up" event on October 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. between Walb Student Union and the Helmke Library on the IPFW campus.
"Chalk it Up" is an initiative of YWCA Northeast Indiana in partnership with local schools, universities, businesses, and organizations. This event takes place as part of annual Domestic Violence Awareness Month activities. Throughout this week, the YWCA partners with community organizations to chalk images, quotations, and statistics across the sidewalks to create awareness about the incidence and impact of domestic violence in our community.
The media are invited to attend and cover this event.
