FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), will host the spring 2014 meeting of the Indiana Section of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) on April 4–5, 2014.
The statewide mathematics event is expected to draw over 120 attendees to the IPFW campus and will include a special math contest for undergraduate students from 30 Indiana teams on Friday, April 4 at 4 p.m.
Invited speakers include:
"The MAA is the premier organization devoted to promoting excellence in mathematics education and teaching in the U.S.," said Marc Lipman, professor of mathematical sciences at IPFW and head of the organizing committee for the spring meeting. "Here at IPFW, we take great pride in the quality of instruction we deliver. Hosting the meeting, and hosting the Indiana College Mathematics Competition is a demonstration of IPFW's commitment to providing a great education, particularly in mathematics, to the citizens of northeastern Indiana."
