The Department of Fine Arts is proud to offer one of the university’s longest-running travel abroad programs. Through travel abroad, students can develop a hands-on understanding of art culture, geography and life-styles that will have a lasting effect on their creativity, careers, and continuing personal growth This is particularly critical for art students, whose artistic concepts will be altered by first-hand experiences with the artworks they have seen in books and the practicing artists of other countries. Most trips are eligible for credit as Advanced Art History or Studio credit the department also offers general education classes to non-art majors and are arranged through Continuing Studies at 260-481-6619.

The National Student Exchange (NSE) is a program for undergraduate exchange within the United States and Canada. Instead of crossing oceans, NSE students cross state, regional, provincial, and cultural borders.
Through the National Student Exchange, students may study for up to one academic year at another location while paying regular IPFW tuition and fees. With nearly 200 colleges and universities from which to choose, students are able to find a university with just the right combination of courses, facilities, and environment to meet academic and personal needs and interests.
