Departmental Affiliations

The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF)

  • A national theatre program that involves over 18,000 university students from across the nation. KCACTF exists to empower theatre departments and performers, improve theatre skills across the nation, and to recognize superior and diverse work. Over 600 universities are networked through KCACTF, allowing theatre departments and students from across the nation to showcase work and receive feedback. Indiana Thespian Society

  • An Indiana organization of community academic theatre.

Students Affiliations and Organizations

The Student Theatre Organization (STO)

Geared toward exposing students to the different fields in theatre. They raise funds to help defer costs on trips and USITT. Throughout the year, STO holds various events in support of the IPFW Department of Theatre. Membership to STO is open to all IPFW students who want to be more involved in the theatre. There are no dues, meetings are mandatory and membership and participation is free from discrimination and harassment as per the policies of the IPFW Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct as stated in Part 1, Items 3 and 4. Purpose and Goals of Organization

To help students get/maintain a positive image of the theater. To raise funds through various enterprises to support performances projects scholarships, and other theatrical activities. Organize group trips.

Membership Requirements and Obligations

Membership is open to all IPFW students. There are no dues, meetings are mandatory with one absence allowed with prior notification. 51% of total membership must be currently enrolled students at IPFW and only those members may vote, hold office, and represent the organization/university.

Activities and Events Planned for Current Year

Theatre majors/minors kick off party, mentor/mentee program, study tables, theatre fund raisers, alumni relation.
