Visiting Writers Series - Haki R. Madhubuti

  • Haki R. Madhubuti was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and lives in Chicago, Illinois, where he is the founder and publisher of Third World Press. He was the 2010-2011 Ida B. Wells-Barnett University Professor at DePaul University. He is a retired University Distinguished Professor and Professor of English at Chicago State University, where he was founder and director-emeritus of the Gwendolyn Brooks Center, as well as director of the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Program. Madhubuti has published over thirty books of poetry and nonfiction.
