NaNoWriMo 2016

The IPFW Writing Center is participating in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) 2016! November is National Novel Writing Month, and the NaNoWriMo organization encourages people to write a 50,000 word novel during the 30 days of November. Many of our consultants participate each year, and we've decided to bring the fun to the IPFW campus community for two write-ins: November 4 and 18 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm in Kettler G19. We'll have caffeine and snacks to keep you fueled for writing, writing prompts to help with dreaded cases of writer's block, and friendly faces to commiserate, collaborate, and congratulate you as you hit your writing goals!

The mission of the IPFW Writing Center is to help writers learn to use language more effectively, produce clear writing appropriate to their purposes and audiences, and develop positive attitudes about writing and about themselves as writers.

Because we have a limited number of staff and we serve all students taking classes on IPFW's campus, we must enforce several policies:

  • Students may schedule one appointment per day, per class
  • If a student schedules more than one appointment per day for the same class, the first appointment of the day will be kept and all following appointments will be canceled.
  • Students may schedule up to three appointments per 6-day period, per class
  • Graduate students must meet with graduate student consultants or undergraduate student consultants that have been approved for graduate work.
  • We do not provide transcription or dictation services
