Facilities

Integral to the programs offered by the Department of Visual Communication and Design are a multimedia lecture hall, photography darkrooms, and dedicated facilities for airbrush and model casting. Three advanced computer art and design laboratories utilizing both PC and Macintosh platforms and a dedicated photographic lighting studio are a central part of the B.F.A. program.  The Visual Arts Building houses more than a dozen large, well-equipped studios for drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, metalsmithing, woodworking, and ceramics, as well as computer labs and lecture and audiovisual rooms. Indoor and outdoor kilns are also integral to the program.

In August 2007, the new Music Building will be utilized to host arts conferences, festivals, summer camps, visiting artists and an expanded IPFW Community Arts Academy for pre-K-12 students.  With common design elements and in close proximity to the Visual Arts Building and Ernest E. Williams Theatre, the Music Building will be the final piece of our vision of an IPFW arts complex, one which will serve the university and the region as the Center for Arts Education in Northeastern Indiana.

IPFW is an Equal Opportunity/Equal Access University.
