Spring 2005

In January, Nicole Chevillot, graphic design senior, designed new artwork for the production of “The Vagina Monologues” to accompany the V-Day (Until the Violence Stops) logo for the Fort Wayne Women’s Bureau. The Vagina Monologues was held on Feb. 26 at the Scottish Rite Auditorium. Eve Ensler’s controversial testimonial to the female anatomy, is a popular and successful fundraising project for campuses and women’s organizations across the country. “When first presented with the project to create artwork for “The Vagina Monologues,” I began studying violent and abrasive images in mainstream society,” Chevillot explained. She decided on the open hand symbol of self-defense slamming the V-Day logo into the face of the audience. Chevillot achieved the overall look for the piece with a style that she calls “graphic realism.”

Andy Barnes, a May 2005 graduate in graphic design, won first prize in an international Web design competition for Windup Records. He designed a Web site for the band 12 Stones. Go to http://12stones.bonzy.net to see his winning entry.
