Faculty Successes
Fall 2005
Assistant Professor Benita Brewer was recently the recipient of an Individual Artists Program grant from the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC). Her work, “Circadian Rhythm,” was selected to be included at the Halpert Biennial ’05 Visual Arts Competition and Exhibition, while “Autumn Circadian” and “Circadian’s End” were selected for inclusion in the online exhibition Digital Universe at http://www.caladangallery.com. “Autumn Circadian” was also accepted for the Lubezik Center for the Arts: Regional Juried Art Exhibition. Brewer’s “Eye Effects of Circadian” was selected for the 7th Annual Contemporary Art International Juried Online Exhibition. It was also selected to be part of the 2nd Biennial International Juried Exhibition at Herbst International Exhibition Hall in San Francisco.
Denny Krist, who is enjoying his recent retirement from IPFW, is the new chair of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Education Committee. Krist is one of two jurors for the Automotive Show at the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Festival.
AnnMarie LeBlanc, chair of VCD, had several works chosen for the November 2005 exhibition Graphite 2005. The show is affiliated with the 3rd International Conference on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques in Australia and Southeast Asia in Dunedin, New Zealand. LeBlanc had works exhibited at DIGITALLY 2005, an international juried online exhibition at ArtRom Gallery, where her work, “Subterranean Empress,” placed third. Richard Papazian, continuing lecturer, recently completed a series of portraits of Continuing Studies students who are featured on the cover of the Continuing Studies Schedule of Classes as well as other print advertisements.
