Spring 2005
Four students and their acting partners participated in the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship competition at the regional Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival. The Irene Ryan nominees (listed first) and their acting partners included Melissa Dowty and Jenn Nickell; Matthew Pederson and Cory Noble; Sara Shepherd and Breona Conrad; Gloria Minnich and Reuben Albaugh.
For the second year in a row, IPFW Senior Jan McCauley walked away with top honors at the 37th Annual Regional American College Theatre Festival (ACTF) held at Illinois State University in Normal , Ill. , in January. McCauley’s costume designs for the IPFW Department of Theatre production of Talking With ... were selected to receive the Barbizon Award for Theatrical Design Excellence in Costume Design in the Region III competition.
Student projects in Studio Theatre were very well received last fall. True West, featuring Matthew C. Pedersen and Cory Noble filled the stage in September and a wide variety of entertaining memories were made during 6.4 in December, when seniors performed some of their best scenes, monologues, solos and dances.
Jake Stackhouse, theatre major, successfully completed his senior project in the role of Curly, in Oklahoma ! The musical, performed at the Embassy Theatre, was a collaboration between the IPFW Department of Theatre and the Fort Wayne Philharmonic
