Associate Professor Chad R. Nicholson is the Director of Instrumental Studies at IPFW where he conducts the wind ensemble and teaches conducting and music education courses. Nicholson is a frequent guest conductor and clinician throughout the United States, and he works actively with students ranging from junior high through collegiate levels. He has been a featured clinician at both regional and national levels, including the Midwest Clinic in Chicago. Nicholson has authored a book to be published in 2008 by Meredith Music entitled, The Wind Band's Core Repertoire: A Conductor's Guide to 100 Top Works. He has published articles in The Instrumentalist as well as in four volumes of Teaching Music through Performance in Band; additionally, his musical arrangements are currently performed by high school and university bands throughout the country.
Nicholson holds degrees from the University of Oklahoma (BME), New Mexico State University (MM), and Indiana University (DM).
