Spring 2017 Concerts

Jacobs School of Music Guitar Ensemble
with special guest Petar Jankovic

The concert will feature virtuoso guitarist and Jacobs School of Music faculty Petar Jankovic as guest soloist. Jankovic will perform the acclaimed concerto Fantasia para un Gentilhombre by Joaquín Rodrigo in a special arrangement for 12 guitars. The program features works by American, Brazilian and Spanish composers, including the recently premiered Ginastera’s Dream by Chrystian Dozza, a piece dedicated to the IU Guitar Ensemble and a homage to the 100th birthday of Argentinean composer Alberto Ginastera.

Terrence Wilson Masterclass

Three Rivers Honor Band Concert

The Three Rivers Honor Bands weekend brings together great instrumentalists from middle school through high school to participate in musical festivities, which includes coaching by IPFW faculty, members of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, as well as leading conductors from across the nation! Gene Marcus Piano Competition

Clarinet and Flute Day

This event is open to flutists and clarinetists, regardless of age, and will feature workshops and performances led by faculty artists Vivianne Belanger and Cynthia Greider.  Special guests are Jonathan Gunn, principal clarinet of the Cincinnati Symphony from 2011–2106, and Jennifer Gunn, piccolo of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Clarinet and Flute Day Guest Artists
Jennifer Gunn, piccolo and Jonathan Gunn, clarinet

Jennifer Gunn plays the piccolo for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Jonathan Gunn is Assistant Professor of Clarinet at the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin. They will conclude IPFW Clarinet and Flute Day with a public recital.
