Graduate Schools

Developing one’s talents to their highest level requires years of study and the assistance of experienced professionals.  By providing a carefully balanced blend of theory and practice, VPA faculty are committed to helping their students establish a strong artistic foundation and achieve their academic and artistic potential.  Continuing artistic growth requires consideration of a wide variety of educational opportunities after graduation, including advanced individual study with professional artists and scholars and academic pursuits in graduate school.

Students are encouraged to explore options for study after graduation with their faculty advisor, other departmental faculty and their department chairs.  These mentors possess a wealth of experience and are pleased to counsel students individually to select their path from the best available options relative to the student’s personal and professional goals.  Please let us help you!

The Department of Fine Arts has had a number of successful graduate candidates accepted into graduate school.  IPFW students have received both M.F.A.s and M.A.s in art from such institutions as UCLA, The Rhode Island School of Design, The University of Florida, Bowling Green State University, and Ball State University.
