“ In my artwork I convey mankind’s drive to create as a defining yet dangerous component of humanity. Through the creative act we seek to satisfy our imaginations, and through this we effectively create our selves. This is why creativity can be such a powerful and potentially dangerous urge. So much so, that as a species our creative impulse has overridden our own sense of self-preservation. I wish for my art to both capture and celebrate this as an almost heroic sacrifice to the human imagination. Whether physical or psychological, the inherent danger of creativity is fascinating to me. In my work I portray myself as an individual engaged in the creative struggle with dangers both real and imagined.”
