Dance

Daisy Paroczy

Daisy has grown up with dance having trained at the Fort Wayne Ballet and loves teaching as well as learning. She has performed in several shows with the Fort Wayne Ballet, Fort Wayne Dance Collective and the Arena Dinner Theatre. Daisy danced in On The Town and Purely Dance here at IPFW. She has taught at Tri-County Dance, Homestead High School and the Fort Wayne Dance Collective where she worked with Weisser Park Elementary students in their outreach program.

Breona Conrad
Breona is an IPFW Theatre major who has taught for several years in Decatur at the Suzy Fuelling Dance Academy and has danced in several area productions including, but not limited to, A Chorus Line , Oklahoma! ; Crazy for You , The Music Man and Merrily We Roll Along where she served as the Dance Captain as well as being in the show!

Piano

Christine Freeman
Ms. Freeman has been a music teacher and accompanist in the Los Angeles and Fort Wayne areas for over 30 years. She received her BA degree in music from California State University at Northridge where she studied with artist in residence, Jakob Gimpel and Francoise Regnat. Focusing on accompanying and chamber music, Ms. Freeman worked as an accompanist at CSUN and El Camino College; and was coached in chamber music by several artists including Nathaniel Rosen, Jeffrey Solow, Peter Rejto, Eric Friedmann and Endre Granat. In 1995, Ms. Freeman returned to college and received her MM degree in piano performance from Butler University where she studied with artist in residence, Panayis Lyras.

Ms. Freeman currently teaches music fundamentals at IPFW, teaches piano through the IPFW Community Arts Academy & works as a free-lance accompanist in the Fort Wayne area. She is a member of Northeast Indiana Music Teachers Association, IMTA, MTNA, and American College of Piano Teachers (Guild).

Carol Hahn (Suzuki)
Mrs. Hahn has taught piano privately for 40 years. She is on the faculty at IPFW where she teaches freshman class piano to music majors. She has also taught Suzuki piano for the past 14 years.

Carol holds a B.M. in Piano Performance from Wesleyan College, Macon, Georgia and an M.M. in Piano Performance from the University of Missouri - Columbia. She also studied at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore and the University of Cincinnati's College - Conservatory of Music. In addition she has completed two units of Suzuki piano training with Bruce Anderson and six units with Haruko Kataoka at various colleges and universities around the country.

Dorothy Hendricksen
Mrs. Hendricksen is a native of Watertown, Wisconsin, but makes Fort Wayne, Indiana her home with husband Don and sons David and Dan.

Dorothy earned a B.S.E. from Concordia Teachers College and a B.S. in music from IPFW. She has taught piano since 1981.

Robin Kurbanov
Robin has her Bachelor’s of music degree in piano performance from Kentucky Christian College. While a student, she interned under Roger McMurrin, Director of the Kiev Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in Kiev, Ukraine which led to her position as Accompanist and Worship Leader for the Calvary Chapel of Kiev.  Robin is fluent in Russian and functional in Ukrainian.  She has worked as pianist and singer for several area churches.
 

Joyanne Outland
Joyanne Outland is Assistant Professor of Music at IPFW where she teaches piano, piano pedagogy, music theory and music appreciation. Dr. Outland is an experienced adjudicator for the National Guild of Piano Teachers, the Indiana State School Music Association, and the Indiana Music Teachers Association. A Past President of the Indiana Music Teachers Association, Dr. Outland holds degrees in piano and musicology from Baylor University, the University of Illinois and Ball State University.

Hamilton Tescarollo
Dr. Tescarollo is Assistant Professor of Music/Director of Keyboard Studies for the Department of Music at IPFW.  He has a B.M. in Piano Performance from Faculdade Santa Marcelina, Sao Paulo, Brazil, an M.M. in Piano Performance and a D.M.A. in Piano Performance from Arizona State University.  Dr. Tescarollo has studied with Caio Pagano, Robert Hamilton, Gilberto Tinett, and Paul Bergamo.  He has taught private piano instruction since 1988 mostly with pre-college students.  Most of his students have been prizewinners and have received scholarships to several universities, conservatories and music festivals such as  Arizona State University and Peabody Conservatory, Interlochen, Idyllwild, Brevard, etc.  Dr. Tescarollo has presented master classes for the Universidade Gederal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil, Phoenix Music Teachers Association and Eastern Washington University.  Dr. Tescarollo is a member of the Music Teachers National Association and the College Music Society.
 
 

Mary Roth
Mrs. Roth has a B.S. in Music from IPFW.

Mary student teaches piano to beginners through intermediate students. She also plays preludes and accompaniment for the First Mennonite Church on Sundays.

Rebekah Smith (Suzuki)
Rebekah lives in Antwerp , Ohio with her husband. She has two daughters, one married and one in college. Her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance is from Wesleyan College in Macon , GA. She has 38 years in the private piano instruction field and the church musician field, in which she makes use of her piano, vocal, organ and violin skills. She
is a full time bank teller at the Antwerp Exchange Bank.

Theatre

Gloria Minnich is an IPFW graduate with a degree in general studies with a theatre and dance minor. She was recently seen in The Vagina Monologues at the Scottish Rite Center. She has appeared in Medea, Oklahoma!, Talking With..., 6.4, Once Upon a Mattress, Love, Passion & Redemption, The Heiress and The Mai, among many other productions at IPFW . She received an Irene Ryan nomination for her favorite role as Catherine in Suddenly Last Summer. Minnich is an instructor for the IPFW Community Arts Academy youth drama classes and is a member of the Fort Wayne Dance Collective Touring Company.

 

Exploratory Music

Jennifer Zent
Jennifer Zent-Call received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education with Honors in Music from Ball State University in 1995.  She has completed three levels of American Orff-Schulwerk Certification.  During the 2003 summer she participated in the International Summer Course Music and Dance Education:  Orff-Schulwerk held at the Orff Institute of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria.  She has also completed classes in Kodaly and Dalcroze Eurhythmics.  She has nine years experience teaching elementary music. 

 

 

 

Voice

Sara Davis
Sara is a member of the IPFW Associate Music faculty where she teaches applied voice and voice classes. Her musical training includes a B.S. in Music and and Outside Field from IPFW and fifteen years of advanced private study with Violette Vernaud Meyers. She also has a B.A. in English Literature from IU Bloomington and an M.S. in Education from St. Francis University.

Teresa Reiling
Tess Reiling, soprano, is a graduate of IPFW Music Department where she majored in Vocal Performance. She is experienced in all stages of vocal development, voicings, languages, vocal hygiene and pedagogy, religious and secular music and classical repertoire. She has performed in several IPFW operas and in musical theater in Fort Wayne. Besides solo performance, Tess has sung with several choral groups including the Philharmonic Chorus and IPFW Chamber Singers.

Tess is Music and Choral Director at Simpson United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne. She has performed at various functions in the area and is also vocalist in a local dance band. Tess is a member of the Fort Wayne Alumnae Chapter of SAI, the American Choral Director Assn. and Omicron Psi, a national honor society. She continues vocal studies with R. Allen Saunders and Rosalie Becker.

Percussion

Jeffrey “Scott” Kump
Scott received a Bachelor’s degree in music from Taylor University, Upland.  He currently works for WFCV AM1090 Radio and is the Drama and Music Director for Brookside Church.  Scott has quite an impressive background from teaching percussion for the Community School of Arts at Taylor University, Fort Wayne, private instructor in the Fort Wayne area and teaching at Indiana Wesleyan University in percussion methods

Flute

Ann Donner
Ms. Donner currently teaches flute at IPFW and Taylor University. She also serves as flute choir director and works as a freelance musician. She has served as second flutist for the Fort Wayne Philharmonic for the past 20 years.

Ann earned a B.M. and an M.M. in Flute Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music and was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship for one year of post-graduate study in Berlin, Germany.Strings

 

Violin

Marcella Trentacosti

Originally from Allentown, PA, Marcy has been a member of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic since 1975, is an IPFW Associate Faculty member and Associate Concertmaster with the Marion Philharmonic. She has been a member of the Rome Festival Orchestra, the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, and taught at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan.

Marcy has also served as the manager of the Fort Wayne Youth Symphony. She has played under Anne Rylands, Henryk Kowalski (IU), Victor Aitay (Chicago Symphony), and Lawrence Shapiro. Marcy received a Bachelor of Music Education from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne in 1981 and is currently pursuing her masters degree in violin performance at Bowling Green State Univeristy.

Derek Reeves is a limited term lecturer in the Department of Music at IPFW.  Derek has the distinction of being Prinicipal Viola for the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra.  He is also the viola sub for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.  Mr. Reeves has a B.M. in Violin Performance, a M.M. in violin performance both from Indiana University.  He also has done post graduate study in viola performance at Butler University.  He has studied with Csaba Erdelyi, Franco Gulli, Yuval Yaron and Laurence Shapiro.

William Klickman
Bill is a limited term lecturer as a string techniques instructor for the Department of Music at IPFW.  He is a violinist for the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra, co-director of Fort Wayne Suzuki Talent Education, assistant orchestra director for IPFW and strings teacher for the Fort Wayne Lutheran school system.  Mr. Klickman has been involved in music and music education for over forty years.  He has a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Capital University in Columbus, OH and has done graduate work with the University of Michigan, Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo.

Kay Elizabeth Brown
Ms. Brown has been a private violin instructor in Fort Wayne since 2005.  She has worked as the Choir Director and Children’s Choir Director for Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and St. John Crysostom Orthodox Church respectively.  And, she has worked extensively in the Midland and Bay City, MI area.  Ms. Brown has a Bachelor of Music degree, Cum Laude, from Central Michigan University.

 

Guitar

Scott Workman
Scott is currently a B.M.E., Music Education major with an emphasis in guitar with the Department of Music at IPFW.  He has an A.A., General Studies from IPFW. Scott has taught master classes at Grace Academy of Fine Arts in Winona Lake, IN and at the IPFW Warsaw Center.  He is a member of the Music Educator’s National Conference collegiate chapter.  He has taught guitar as an instructor with Paradise Music and TG Music in Goshen and Warsaw.  Scott will be graduating in 2010.

Laura Lydy

Kevin Hege
Kevin graduated from the Department of Music at IPFW with a B.S. in Music and Education and taught guitar at Taylor University, Fort Wayne campus.  He teaches guitar, voice and music theory and is the Music Director at Churubusco, UMC.  Mr. Hege has recorded for Morada Records in Nashville, TN and has performed professionally touring the United States, Canada and Europe. 

Art

Leann Gehm
Leann has a B.A. in Studio Art from Eastern Illinois University and a M.S. in Art Education and Art Therapy from Illinois State University.  She is currently self-employed as a weaver for Miranda’s Loom which specializes in handwoven art pieces and useful household items.  She has worked as an art therapist for a number of years, but truly enjoys weaving and the fiber arts.  She is a member of the Fort Wayne Area Artists.
