Adventures In 3-Dimensional Art
Create a variety of 3-Dimensional masterpieces in this fun class. Work with clay and modeling, plastic canvas art, create paper, patterns and ceramic tiles. These fun activities shape artistic development and encourage expression of perception, imagination and emotion. All skill levels welcome. (Materials included)

Exploring Pottery
Enjoy getting your hands into clay while exploring the wonderful world of making pottery using the potter’s wheel. Prepare and center the clay on the wheel. Than be introduced to and create basic shapes such as the cylinder, bowl, and round vase. The first 6 classes will all be throwing on the wheel. Glaze your masterpieces on July 21 and 22 with NO CLASS on July 23. *We will meet briefly at noon on Thursday, July 30 to pick up fired pottery. Parents encouraged to attend! Students will bring home their glazed and finished masterpieces on July 23. Please wear old clothes and bring a towel to drape over your legs when on the wheel. Materials provided. Very limited class size!

Manga Mania!
Turn your life into a comic book! This fast-paced class will teach students the basics of the Japanese anime-style of cartooning by honing your drawing skills. Your blooming artist will learn the history of manga, the basics of graphic layout, design, and copy, as well as receive the necessary tools to maintain their drawing and writing skills. Learn the basic shape transformations used for building main characters, value and color layout. All skill levels welcome. (Materials included)

NEW!! Manga Action – Advanced Class
This class is for those advanced students who understand the concepts of manga and want to liven up their subjects. This class explains the design dynamics used to help the viewer eyes flow naturally along a story board. Explore different writing styles and discuss a plot, make a collaborative short storyboard. Have fun expressing yourself while building art knowledge and skills. (Materials included)

Photography for Young Adults (3 SECTIONS)
Due to popular demand, 3 sections are being offered in Photography!! Designed to develop a fundamental understanding of the basic principles of photography, students will learn basic camera settings and functions and how they affect the image. Basic principles of lighting and composition will be discussed and how to apply this knowledge to create better images. Challenging assignments will help students apply the knowledge they acquire. All skill levels welcome! Bring a basic 35mm camera or standard digital camera to the first class and a blank CD.

NEW!! The Lyrical Cup: Exploring Pewtersmithing Workshop** (2 DIFFERENT SECTIONS)
Make a food safe pewter cup/vessel with a surprise interior bottom. Study pewter fusing and soldering with acetylene torches, metal stretching and forming by hand using polished hammers and files, and also lost wax casting. Use of metal smithing equipment such as acetylene torches, hammers, saws and files. ** The activities involved in this camp will be under the direct supervision of IPFW staff, and the safety of participants will be our primary concern. However, there are certain risks involved when using the equipment necessary for a camp of this nature. Because of this, parents will be required to sign a waiver, release, and hold harmless document as a condition of enrolling your child in this camp. Tools and studio equipment are provided. All skill levels welcome! Metal materials provided. Bring a sack lunch. Very limited class size!

A full refund is given when the university cancels a course or when the IPFW Community Arts Academy receives notification of withdrawal from the registrant before the third (3rd) business day PRIOR to the start of the class. No refunds will be given after class or private instruction begins.
