Mix It Up:  Drawing and Painting

Enjoy splashes of color learning exciting drawing and painting techniques by mixing various art mediums such as collaging, color papers, painting and watercolor.  Join us!  Learn new skills or improve on what you already know.  (Materials included)

Adventures In 3-Dimensional Art

Join us and create a variety of 3-Dimensional masterpieces using materials and techniques including paper mache, pottery, woodworking, fiber art, colorful popcorn, beading, and collage. These fun activities shape artistic development and encourage expression of perception, imagination and emotion. All skill levels welcome. (Materials included)

NEW!!  Exploring Pottery

Enjoy getting your hands into clay while exploring the wonderful world of making pottery using the potters wheel!  Learn from Fort Wayne potter, Kristy Jo Beber, to prepare and center the clay on the wheel. Then be introduced to and create basic shapes such as the cylinder, bowl, and round vase.  Make room for your masterpieces that will be perfected and glazed and coming home on December 6th.  Please wear old clothes and bring a towel to drape over the legs when on the wheel.  Materials provided.  Very limited class size!

NEW!!  Learn To Knit

Learn to knit while making a fashionable scarf and a hat that your friends and family will admire.  Grades 2-5 will be use the book, Kids Knitting: Projects for Kids of All Ages by Melanie Falick.  Grades 6-9 will be use the book, Teen Knitting Club, Chill Out and Knit by Wegner, Abrams and Lasher.  Students must furnish their own scissors and a supply bag for working projects.  Student will receive a materials list upon registration for class – most materials and book for this class will be provided.

NEW!!  Knit a Hoodie

This 8 session intermediate knitting class allows plenty of time for in-class knitting to inspire you at home.  Learn to do cables, buttons, minor shaping, pattern reading, seaming and a 3 needle bind off with a great pattern by designer Heather Lodinsky called “Central Park Hoodie”. Students must have basic knitting skills including knit stitch, purl stitch, cast on and bind off, basic increase and decrease helpful but not required.  Pattern provided but students must furnish their own yarn and other necessary knitting supplies.  Students will receive a materials list before class.

REFUND POLICY:
A full refund is given when the university cancels a course or when the IPFW Community Arts Academy receives notification of withdrawal from the registrant before the third (3rd) business day PRIOR to the start of the class.  No refunds will be given after class or private instruction begins.
