Lync: Basics

Lync is an easy-to-use program that allows you to connect and share with your coworkers and others anywhere. Lync makes online communication more collaborative and engaging with instant messaging (IM), audio, and video calls.

NOTE: If signed onto Lync on more than one device, only one of the devices will receive new incoming messages, calls, etc. To avoid this, sign out of the device(s) you are not using.

*Lync use requires an IPFW Employee Account

Lync 2010 and 2013

Lync 2010 and 2013 work basically the same way. Lync 2013 just offers some new features like

  • Mobility
