026--Strategies to Secure Online Assessment Presented by: Mary Hricko, Kent State University

This presentation will offer strategies for educators to secure online assessment. A discussion on types of assessment (formative, diagnostic, summative, etc) used in online instruction will introduce the challenges instructors face in implementing these formats. Information regarding the best practices to integrate these formats and also to deter academic misconduct will be provided. Discussion of specific challenges such as accessibility and legal issues will be included for review. Resources and strategies regarding the use of assessment applications will also be given. The purpose of the presentation will be to identify methods and offer insights to improve assessment practices in the online environment. Educators and administrators involved with securing and proctoring online assessment will find this session beneficial.
