SUBJECT: Temporary Signage Support

1. Printing Services Resources for Temporary Signage Effective November 1

All requests for temporary signage should be directed to Printing Services; University Relations and Communications will no longer produce temporary signage effective November 1, 2012. Permanent signage requests will continue to be managed by Physical Plant. Temporary signage is defined as:

  • Table-top, authorized event wayfinding, display, photo mounts, authorized directional parking signs, and other displays presented for a limited period of time
  • Such displays that are commonly created with and mounted to poster board, foam core, adhesive vinyl, and various art supplies

2. Client Guidelines for Obtaining Temporary Signage

Printing Services can design and produce temporary signage and help determine which policies and offices should be consulted for particular projects. Clients requesting signage should note the following guidelines:

  • Printing Services will provide a cost estimate for design time and the print job
  • The Printing Services designer can work with the client to produce the requested signs
  • The client will be notified if changes to design or materials will increase the cost
  • If the request cannot be designed and produced at Printing Services, Printing Services will refer the client to Purchasing for alternative local vendors

3. Mounting Services No Longer Provided by URC or Printing Services Effective November 1

Mounting services will not be provided by either URC or Printing Services effective November 1. Printing Services can provide alternative options and where those do not meet the client’s need, Purchasing can provide alternative vendors.
