Creating a functional, beautiful, space can be both a joy and a challenge. Choice Designs Inc. and Organized Living Solutions LLC will share tips and tricks to help you organize and enhance your space, and show you some beautiful new organizing products that will make your life simpler!

Emily Fitzgerald is Northern Indiana's only Certified Professional Organizer. Since 2003, her company, Organized Living Solutions, LLC, has helped hundreds of clients get organized in their homes and offices. She shares her enthusiasm for organizing through classes taught at IPFW's Division of Continuing Studies.

Jennifer FordJennifer Ford is the sales manager and art consultant for Choice Designs Inc., a Fort Wayne interior design firm. She places art in private homes and large corporations. Notable projects include Montreux Jazz Festival, France; Bentley Charity Auction, Germany; Best Buddies Foundation Sculptures, Florida; Tratzberg Castle Exhibition, Austria; and a Lecture Series for the Harvard Club.

Dorian Maples' 30 years as a Registered Nurse include her role as co-founder of Angel Corps and Dorian Maples & Associates. She is certified in long-term care management which strongly influences her leading roles as wife, daughter, and mother.

Margeaux CorraoMargeaux Corrao's 12 years as a licensed cosmetologist and mobile salon has many accomplishments in the world of beauty services with most recently joining the Angel Corps team as their Marketing Director in 2011. Her leading role is Dorian's daughter!

Ever wonder where your bacon comes from? Not sure what to believe about antibiotics and growth hormones in regard to the meat you eat? Indiana pork producer Heather Hill will “open up the barn doors” and give you a glimpse inside her working pig and grain farm. Join Heather in an open conversation about the realities of today’s food production, then learn about the “Anti-Aging Diet” with Tricia Neary of Lutheran Life Villages. Discover how proper nutrition and an active lifestyle can help slow the aging process and help fend off age-related chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.

Heather Hill lives on a fifth generation hog and grain farm with her husband Mark and three children in Greenfield, Ind. She is a graduate of Purdue University and serves as president of the Indiana Pork board of directors

Tricia NearyTricia Neary graduated from Ball State University with a degree in exercise science, specializing in physical activity for the older adult. Tricia serves as a board member for the Arthritis Foundation and is an International Council on Active Aging champion. She works as the community sales director for Lutheran Life Villages.


It's Not Just Menopause

Having hot flashes, weight gain, night sweats, trouble sleeping, mood changes? Michele Helfgott, M.D., of Parkview Physicians Group's integrative medicine program will examine other causes for these symptoms and how they relate to menopause. Learn why menopause is a continuum that is a very important phase in women's lives, and discover the role that nutrition and hormones play during this time of transition.

Michele Helfgott, MD, earned her medical degree from The Chicago Medical School and completed her residency at William Beaumont Hospital before starting into practice with what is now known as Parkview Physicians Group – OB/GYN. She strives to provide patients with a comprehensive approach to their healthcare and overall wellbeing. This led her to pursue a career in integrative medicine and complete an Anti-Aging, Metabolic, and Regenerative Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Helfgott treats issues associated with menopause, perimenopause, autoimmune disease, and gastrointestinal issues. She also provides bioidentical hormone replacement options and assists with nutritional counseling and exercise.

The volatile economy has affected the way people plan for retirement income, so it is wise to anticipate even more government and legislative change. There is little we can do to stop the changes, but we can change the way we think about them. In this session you’ll learn how to establish your dreams for retirement, set goals and prioritize them, and attach a price tag to each goal. The sum of all your goals is the estimated cost of your retirement, and the final amount you save will be used to produce an annual income for the rest of your life. Can't get to sleep? Can't stay asleep? Too tired to wake up in the morning? Tired all day? These are all common sleep complaints. Join us for a discussion on sleep disorders, insomnia, and the role that stress plays in our ability to sleep. Discover some strategies to improve your quality of sleep. By the end of the session, you will be better equipped to experience a relaxing night's sleep!

Dr. Atiya S. Khan

Dr. Atiya S. Khan of the Fort Wayne Neurological Center is board-certified in sleep medicine and specializes in epilepsy and sleep disorders. Her residency in neurology was completed at the New York University Medical Center, which was followed by a fellowship in neurophysiology at the Harvard University Medical School Neurology Program.

Dr. Tasha Williams of Fort Wayne Neurological Center is a neuropsychologist. She is board certified in pediatric neuropsychology, but works with a wide variety of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Maybe you just want to gain more confidence and learn how to better project yourself. One of the best ways to gain confidence is by learning to dance. Acquire elegance and grace, and watch people take notice! Have fun learning dances like the Waltz, Tango, and Foxtrot.

Patric Didier

Patric Didier has been dancing since his youth and has performed in TV commercials and on stage for such acts as the Brian Setzer Orchestra. He is the two-time winner of the Indiana Classic and placed 6th in Professional American Rhythm at the Indiana Challenge. He has taught over 25,000 lessons, has coached professional competitors, and is sought after as an instructor due to his technical expertise and his ability as a teacher and communicator.


Fifty Shades — Let's Talk about Sex

11:45 a.m. Session Option A


Do you have questions regarding sex? Have you ever had problems with sexual intercourse, or has your libido decreased lately? Approximately 52 percent of women in the United States report either having concerns about sex or having distressing sexual problems. The female sexual response cycle, risk factors for sexual dysfunction, and the evaluation and management of sexual problems will be addressed during this session. Dr. Francis Esguerra will discuss sexual health, address common misconceptions regarding sex, and conduct a Q&A session.

Francis Esguerra, M.D., is an OB-GYN physician at Women's Health Advantage who has been in practice since July 2012. He received his undergraduate degree from Butler University, medical degree from American University of the Caribbean, and completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at Oakwood hospital and Medical Center in Dearborn, Mich. Dr. Esguerra volunteers his time at the Matthew 25 and Neighborhood Health Clinics.

Cindy Friend and her team will share the latest trends for home storage systems, window treatments, and kitchen and bath remodeling. Ann Waters will share exciting and relaxing vacation tips that go beyond the tried and true. Bring your questions about design dilemmas and vacation locations

Ann Waters is the 2nd generation owner of Travel Leaders, which has six locations in Indiana. She has been with the company for 24 years. Having traveled the world, her "comfort" destination is New Orleans—but after being inspired by a visit to the Atacama Desert in Chile, the Patagonia region of South America is next on her list.

Cindy Friend is an interior designer whose specialty is residential construction. She partnered with Grabill Cabinets to open Cindy Friend Boutique in Covington Plaza, which showcases local artists and offers decorative elements for sale. The boutique offers full-service design and remodel consultation and is the only Fort Wayne retail location to specialize in Grabill custom cabinetry and furniture.

Vicky L. Carwein

Vicky L. Carwein is in the first year of her tenure as IPFW's ninth chancellor. A Hoosier native, Carwein served as the chancellor of Washington State University Tri-Cities in Richland, Wash., from 2006 to 2012. Working with Washington's wine industry, she helped establish the Wine Science Center, an advanced teaching and research winery that aspires to be one of the top three centers of its kind in the world.

Mike Packnett joined Parkview Health as President and CEO in June 2006. Prior to that, he served for 15 years in several roles with the Sisters of Mercy Health System–St. Louis. Packnett serves on numerous boards including the Indiana Hospital Association, the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, the Regional Chamber of Northeast Indiana, and the Fort Wayne/Allen County Economic Development Alliance.

Elizabeth Nulf MacDonald is a communication consultant, instructor, speaker, and founder of the Verbal Edge. Passionate about equipping others to communicate effectively, Elizabeth's experience includes TV reporting and anchoring, marketing, and communication for Fort Wayne Community Schools and teaching high school English.

Tonya Schroeder and Shanna Warner are managers who have worked for Verizon for four years. In an industry where technology changes so often, they are passionate about keeping themselves and their customers educated. After leading the classes at the store for over two years, they took charge of the company's data workshops and created a program better suited to their customers' needs. Their location now offers four classes a week, ranging from basics for first-time smart phone and tablet customers to advanced classes.

The Breast Diagnostic Center will reveal how very dense breast tissue may increase a woman's personal risk for cancer by obscuring it on mammograms, then share how it can be detected at an early stage. Although they aren't life-threatening, varicose veins are painful and unsightly and affect nearly 30 million adults. Many patients and physicians aren't fully aware of advances that have been made in the treatment of venous disease. William C. Petty, M.D., is the Breast Diagnostic Center Medical Director. He is past president of the board of the American Cancer Society, Fort Wayne and belongs to the Society of Breast Imaging. Dr. Petty's area of expertise is Breast Imaging.

John D. Reed Jr., M.D., is the medical director of NuVena. Dr. Reed completed a fellowship in interventional radiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology.
