Tapestry: A Day for You celebrated its eleventh annual event on Friday, April 27, 2012, with recording breaking attendance of 1,436. It was truly an inspirational day filled with amazing speakers, shopping, and an unprecedented amount of scholarship funds being raised.
The day started by recognizing Donna Emley, Tapestry's 2012 Dedication Award Honoree. Donna Emley's giving personality shined through as she accepted this prestigious award. Next, Mayor Suzanne Handshoe shared her personal story of "Breaking the Mold" life journey which brought tears and laughter to all those in the crowd. Strolling through the 161 artisan boutique and sponsor booths was next on the agenda for the capacity crowd. Then, guests dispersed to the thirteen educational breakout sessions. The luncheon program was highlighted by the inspirational stories of seven IPFW College of Health and Science students who were awarded a record-breaking total of $38,500 in scholarship funds. And, finally, Patricia Heaton entertained the audience with her thoughts on marriage, motherhood and raising four sons—all while balancing a career.
The result was $86,000 raised for women's scholarships, the highest in Tapestry's eleven year history. Half of those funds will go into the Tapestry Parkview Endowment and the other half will be available to award scholarships at the next Tapestry: A Day for You, Friday, April 26, 2013. Since the scholarships were introduced in 2002, over $536,000 has been raised and 37 IPFW students have been awarded scholarships.

Friday, April 23, 2010 was the ninth time that women from all over Indiana and surrounding states filled the Coliseum with a vibrant energy that is the tapestry of women. Laughter, applause and smiles were the norm. Betty Stein was recognized for being an outstanding female role model in terms of family, community and profession. A record breaking five (5) scholarships, totally $28,000, were awarded to students studying health sciences at IPFW. Speakers offered educational seminars.
