The Freshman Mentoring Program is helpful for freshmen with first-year concerns. Here’s how...

What if I have trouble making friends or not “fitting in”?

Your mentor is committed to your friendship and will assist you in making friends around campus to form your own social network. You will also have the opportunity to attend activities and meet other mentors and mentees.

The Freshman Mentoring Program is helpful

What do I do if I need assistance with my schoolwork?

Your mentor may assist you with your homework and will also be familiar with IPFW resources and may suggest free tutoring services offered by IPFW.

How will I be able to balance all of my responsibilities?

Your mentor has experience with prioritizing and coping. Your mentor is here to share his or her experience and knowledge with you to ensure your success.

Anxieties of being in a new environment can be a culture shock to some. College can be a trying time for students physically, occupationally, mentally, spiritually, and socially.

Your mentor is committed to encouraging you to succeed as well as getting you connected on and off campus. A mentor can relate to new challenges you may be facing, he/she is there to bounce ideas off of, and will assist you in forming a positive support system. Your mentor can also get you acquainted with your new surroundings.
