Co-Curricular Transcript
Get it "on the record"
Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) has more academic and extracurricular opportunities than any other higher education institution in northeast Indiana. Offering more than 2100 student hosted activities and events annually, the opportunity to become involved in campus is apparent.
The Co-Curricular Transcript (CCT), is a program for recording awards, scholarships, community service, educational workshops, programs, leadership activities, student government and organizations. By recording activities outside of the classroom, this CCT evolves to compliment the academic transcript. Such involvement requires active participation in leadership experiences and must be assessed by an academic or administrative unit and confirmed by the Student Life office.
The Student Life office strives to enhance the quality of life on campus and to promote the educational, personal, and leadership development of the students. The CCT is an important facet of the activities coordinated in conjunction with this office. The CCT reflects the belief in and value of out-of-classroom experiences that students have. Students are encouraged to develop a CCT in preparation for entering the job market or pursuing higher education. It is the responsibility of the student to complete the necessary paperwork for validation.
The Purpose of the CCT at IPFW is to:
-
Facilitate valuable educational, personal, and leadership skills in the areas of event planning, communication, fiscal management, problem solving, and diversity. A key focus is to determine the personal and professional balance.
-
Provide a means to assess student skills and abilities gained in and out of the classroom while at IPFW.
-
Make available an official document representing the student’s co-curricular involvement and leadership experiences while at IPFW.
-
Present copies of co-curricular information to facilitate in the preparation of resumes, job interviews, or higher education pursuits.
-
Validate the benefits associated with campus community involvement.
The Benefits of CCT:
Student involvement in campus activities strengthens the student spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, socially, culturally, and compliments the academic experience. In hopes of providing the student with a sense of pride and accomplishment, the transcript details all of the student’s accomplishments throughout his/her career at IPFW. The transcript will be a valuable adjunct to his/her academic transcript when applying to an institution of higher learning or searching for employment.
The Components of the CCT:
The CCT includes five components. Transcript entries reflect student involvement in various activities and must meet the certification criteria of at least one of the five components outlined below:
- Awards & Scholarships recognize outstanding academic or personal levels of achievement conferred upon the student while attending IPFW.
- Community Service consists of events and activities that demonstrate a commitment to civic responsibility. Such considerations include political awareness, public service, or charitable contributions.
- Educational Workshops and Programs consist of programs or workshops, which address life skills, career skills, and personal development.
- Leadership Activities include involvement on athletic teams, officers within student organizations, and positions across campus.
- Student Government and Organizations reflect student membership and participation in IPFW recognized clubs and organizations. Organizational membership requires a minimum of one semester of participation.
The CCT Process

2. Start: Start your CCT. Each student will need to complete the Co-Curricular Entry Record including contact information.
3. List: List your complete entries on the Co-Curricular Entry Record.
4. Submit: Submit your Co-Curricular Entry Record to the Student Life Office at the completion of each semester in order to keep your CCT current.

Validation Forms are not required when:
* You have signed a CCT Attendance Sheet.
* You can provide a certificate of completion or participation.
* Your organization’s advisor validates your membership in a student organization.
Please note, you will need to have at least six entries to receive an official CCT.
