<>Accounting Society>

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To prepare accounting students for professional roles in the field of accounting and the business world. To assist accounting students in the selection of an area of specialization. To grant the accounting students the opportunity to relate to people at all levels of the accouting curriculum.

    There is a $5.00 annual membership to be in the Accounting Society.

Agriculture & Pre-Vet Club

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To learn as much as possible and gain experience regarding these career fields, as well as to make new friends.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Attendance to all meetings is strongly suggested, participation in club activities a must. Comments and/or suggestions are always welcome. Voting members must be enrolled in at least 1 class and have a GPA of at least 2.0. Non-students are welcome to join and participate in events, but are not able to vote, or hold office. Dues are $3.00 per semester.

    SOAR, Organizational Fair, Cutest Pet Contest, Earth Day, IPFW Health Fair, Huntington Dog Walk, Service projects, guest speakers, regular meetings.

AMSA Pre-Med Club

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To inform students of the requirements for medical schools, aide in the application process, and provide education about the medical field as a profession. Also to provide information regarding the MCAT and encourage medical health profession graduate studies.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Membership is extended to all IPFW students. The membership fees for the local chapter shall be $5 for the academic year and AMSA national dues for officers are $35 per year. The number of members is unlimited. Members may be expelled from this organization for inappropriate conduct and for violating the student code of conduct.

American Society of Civil Engineers

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To encourage the development of professional consciousness.
    To introduce students to the profession of Civil Engineering.
    To promote a spirit of congeniality among students. To provide friendly contact with the engineering profession.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Membership in this organization shall be open to a IPFW students and may include a limited number of non-students. 51% of the total membership must be currently enrolled students a IPFW and only those members may vote, hold office, and represent the organization/university in an offical capacity. Memership dues of the club shall be $10 per semester due at the second regular meeting.

American Society of Interior Designers

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    Help students of Interior Design gain networking opportunities, grow, membership, raise money, and help the organization grow.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    To become a member of ASID, one must fill out the membership form and pay $40 membership dues.

America's Renaissance

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    Promote environmental & social awareness. Engage IPFW student body with government through innovative forums of discussion. Provide an understanding of the agencies, which our government is comprised of in an effort to instruct how change can be achieved.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Members are encouraged to join wheather an IPFW student or not. Voting members shall be IPFW students currently enrolled in at least one credit hour. Expulsion of members will occur for conduct undecoming and/or a violation(s) of the student body code of conduct.

Anthropology Club

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    The club will stimulate and encourage interest and involvement of the student body in Anthropology, and promote community-wide interest in Anthropology.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Any student at IPFW can be a member of the anthropology club, it is not exclusively for anthropology majors. Club dues are $2.00 each semester and it is recommended that club members attend scheduled meetings.

Art Students League

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To organize art-related events and to unite art students to promote awareness of the arts within our university as well as the entire community.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Membership dues will be paid by each member. The amount and frequency will be decided at the opening of each year.

Biology Club

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    Expand knowledge and interest in Biology to all students through activities, lectures, etc.

     IPFW student (any major), part time/full time; $6.00 dues for year

Ceramics Club

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To meet and share ceramic activities. These can include workshops, field trips, conferences, potluck, and special projects.

Computer Information Association

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To provide an atmosphere for discussion and development of computer technology programs; and personal interests/research projects; development of problem solving skills, and increase general knowledge of the membership.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Open to all IPFW students with 2.5 GPA, and a limited number of non students.. Dues are decided by officers prior to the first general meeting per academic year. Members must be active by attending all meetings as detailed in the constitution.

    Faculty Speakers, fund raising pizza sales, computer building project, CS Seminar, and helping students in computer related classes through tutoring, discussions, etc.

Counseling Honors Society

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    Promote scholarship, research, professionalism and excellence in counseling. Recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Students enrolled in counselor education programs leading to graduate degrees, completing one semester in a counseling graduate program, and a grade point average of 3.5 or better. New members will be inducted in the fall semester annually. Members may be expelled for poor conduct by a 2/3 majority vote.

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To offer support and information pertianing to the field. To foster a commitment to the local community schools and to the school of education.

    Members must be a currently enrolled student of IPFW, free from discrimination and harassment, enrolled in at least (3) credit hours through the School of Education. GPA of 2.5, Undergraduate dues $2.00.

French Club

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To promote awareness of French and francophone culture. To provide social activities for students of French.

    To be a member, you must be enrolled at IPFW or be a french spaker.
    However, non-IPFW students may attend events.

Geosciences Club

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    Acquaint Geology majors/minors with all aspects of Geology by exposing them to field trips,lectures, get-togethers, and Geology fun.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Membership shall be open to all IPFW students and a limited number of non-students. Voting members shall pay $5.00 in dues per semester. The induction of club officers takes 2/3 majority vote. Expulsion consists of a petition of 3/4 members signatures and 3/4 vote.

German Club

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    Form a community of German language students who meet regularly to speak German in a comfortable setting.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    All students must have an interest in learning German and be enrolled in at least six credit hours. Voting members must carry a cumulative 3.0 GPA. No mandatory fees. No attendence requirements.

Graduate Business Council

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    Sounding board between MBA students and program administators. Represent MBA program on campus and community. Promote teaching excellence in program.

    To encourage academic excellence, to plan events that encourage intellectual stimulation, to increase participation and completion of the Honors Program.

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To link hospitality students with hospitality Industries, in a fun and exciting way. Including tours, field trips, career days, and industry mentoring.

Human Services Organization

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:

    To encourage human services students in their professional development. This will be accomplished by: Personal encouragement, sharing information on HSRV's career, providing information for professional training, offering volunteer and networking opportunities, guest speakers, and information on advanced degrees.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Membership is oen to all IPFW and Ivy Tech students. Non-HSRV students are not to exceed 1/2 of the total membership. Students must maintain at least a 2.0 a semester/accumulative GPA. Faculty, staff, almni, or community members may join but they will not have voting privileges. Dues are $5 per year. Members may be expelled from this organization for conduct unbecoming and for violations of the student code of conduct.

Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization: Scientific & Educational, directed towards the advancement of the theory & practice of electrical engineering, electronics, radio and the allied branches of engineering and the related arts & science.

International Students' Organization

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization: Expanding and educating about international culture; provide a home away from home for international students.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations: Open to all IPFW students and may include a limited number of non-students. No fees will be required. Expulsion should be decded by the Board Members, as described in Article IX of the Constitution.

Marketing Association

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization: To develop better Public understanding and appreciation of marketing problems. Also promote friendly learning relationaships between students, faculty, and local businesses.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations: Membership shall be open to all IPFW students enrolled in at least three credit hours at IPFW. Fifty-one percent of the total membership must be currently enrolled at IPFW.

Music Educator's National Conference

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To promote an affordance for students to have an opportunity for professional orientation and
    development while still in school and to promote an understanding of the basic truths and
    principals that underlie the role of music in human life and the philosophy and function
    of music education.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations: Yearly local and national dues are for an academic year. Students are eligible for membership if interested in Music Education and if they are not employed full-time in the field of music education. National dues and local dues for an academic year: National dues for MENC collegiate membership are less than 1/3 the cost of a regular MENC membership, students become members by filling out a form that ask for mailing address and year in
    school as well as paying dues for the year.

National Society of Black Engineers

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization
    To stimulate and develop student interest in engineering, technology and computer science; to strive to increase the number of students studying in these fields and to increase networking among ethnic minority students at IPFW.

    $10 fee for students membership. Open to any student from any scientific field; preferably minority engineers and even more, black engineering students.

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To prepare IPFW pre-pharmacy students for the application process to pharmacy schools by encouraging the personal experience with all interested members while creating a networking environment with representatives of professional programs to speak to the group about their expectations.

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To gain more in-depth knowledge of Philosophy and Critical Thinking Skills. To build interactions and relationships with Philosophy students and Faculty.

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To promote social interaction and exchange of ideas between faculty and students, and to expand awareness and interest in the mathematical sciences.

    Voting members are required to be students with a good academic standing and must pay $2 annual dues. Associate memberships are available to faculty with a payment of $5 dues.

    To provide a forum where members can obtain information about the psychological field, serve the IPFW and surrounding community, and meet others with similar interests.

Society for Human Resource Management

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To promote the development of business professionals at IPFW. To encourage interaction between IPFW students interested in the human resources field and professionals; to conduct prgrams designed to, but not limited to, the awarness of the HR field.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Open to all students and may include a limited number of non-students; 5 % total membership must be currently enrolled at IPFW and those members may vote, hold office, and represent the organization/university in an official capacity; no student chapter dues, students are encouraged to join the national chapter; non membership students may be held by faculty, staff, alumni, or community members.

Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    Apply classroom work to real world situations through design competitions; learn how to impovise, adapt, and overcome challenges; responsibility.

    Membership is open to all IPFW students; a $10 membership fee is required, and paid to the international society.

Society of Manufacturing Engineers

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    SME shall be an operatin institution for the achievement of scientific knowledge and education in the field of manufacturing.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Membership in this organization is open to all IPFW students and may include a limited number of alumni. Fifty one percent of the total membership must be currently enrolled students at IPFW and only those members may vote, hold office and represent the organization. There are no dues collected by the organization.

Society of Physics Students

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization: To distribute physics topics and information, get students connected to professors, research, and corporations.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations: No dues, at least 8 members, 51% IPFW students, not required to attend meetings, written notice and voting appropriate expulsion. level. Members must be enrolled in at least 2 classes at IPFW and members must maintain a 2.00 GPA.

Society of Women Engineers

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization: Establish engineering as a highly desirable career aspiration for women. Empower women to succeed and advance in those aspirations and be recongnized for their contributions as engineers and leaders.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:Not employeed full-time in a professional engineering position or a field related to engineering. Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering OR is pursuing a full-time baccalaurate degree in engineering or a field related to engineering.

Sociology Student Association

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To encourage all sociology students, and those students interested in sociology, to meet their career goals and objectives. Ensuring active participation in each student's academic career and the organization.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Required enrollment in at least 3 credit hours. There are no dues for membership. All members are required to abide by the student code of conduct as stated by IPFW. Voting membership requires the student to submit a registration form to the executive committee.

Speech and Hearing Club

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization: To create and stimulate an interest in speech–language pathology, audiology, and education of people with speech and hearing disorders. To encourage professional growth by providing learning experiences not offered in formal course structure. To educate the community as to the role of and need for speech pathology, audiology, and education of people with speech and hearing disorders.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations: All IPFW students enrolled in at least a credit hour are eligible to join. Dues are $1.00 per semester. Members are required to attend meetings, pay dues and attend outside functions.

Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization: To stimulate intellectual curiosity for students interested in chemistry, chamical engineering, and to provide opportunity to obtain experience in preparing and presenting technical material before chemically oriented audiances.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations: Undergraduate students with interests in chemistry or working toward a B.S.A or a B.S. with a major in chemistry, dues are $5.00.

Student American Dental Hygienists Association

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To develop socially sensitive dental hygiene students. To promote professional growth and responsibility among dental hygiene students. To cultivate, promote, and sustain the art and science of dental hygiene, to represent and safeguard the common interests of members, and contribute toward improvement of oral health of public.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Student membership dues are valid for one calendar year. Members may be expelled for conduct un brcoming and for violation of student code of conduct. A petition will be signed by 2/3 of the members. Only members can vote, hold, office, and represent the organization in any official capacity.

Student Nurses

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    Provide opportunities for diversional activities as a cohort group and conduct fund raising to benefit both member and nonmember students enrolled at IPFW in the nursing program.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    All Nursing program IPFW students. Voting members enrolled a minimum membership is 8. Non-student members may include faculty staff, alumni or community members.

Student Theatre Organization

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To help students get/maintain a positive image of the theater. To raise funds through various enterprises to support performances projects scholarships, and other theatrical activities. Organize group trips.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Membership is open to all IPFW students. There are no dues, meetings are mandatory with one absence allowed with prior notification. 51% of total membership must be currently enrolled students at IPFW and only those members may vote, hold office, and represent the organization/university.

Symphonic Wind Ensemble

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    Inclusion of both music and non-music majors in an artistic and academic performance class dedicated to both the reservation of traditional music as well as the promotion of modern compositions.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Students must be selected from open auditions adjudicated by the director of instrumental studies. Most enroll in the ensemble for credit. Students generally provide their own instrument, accessories and maintenance.
