Student Senate Bill Process

  1. Obtain and fill out copy of a funding request form HERE.
  2. Submit your funding request to Student Government via e-mail at stugovt@ipfw.edu.
    1. Please entitle (subject line) the request as “Funding Request.”
    2. If you have additional materials please send them as an attachment in your e-mail.
  3. You will receive a confirmation e-mail from the Executive Assistants upon receipt of your funding request.
  4. The Student Body Comptroller will review your request to ensure compliance with the Financial Guidelines.
  5. Funding request will then be forwarded to the Ways and Means Committee to review for compliance with the Financial Guidelines.  If approved, The Ways and Means Committee will author a bill outlining the proposed event and recommended allocation to the Student Senate.
  6. One representative from the requesting organization(s)/department(s) is required to be present during the Senate Meeting in order to have the bill (funding request) heard.

  7. If approved by the Student Senate, the bill will be forwarded to the Student Body President.  If the Student Body President approves/signs the bill, a check will be issued and forwarded to the Student Life Office (unless otherwise noted) for the student organization to pick up.  This process takes approximately six weeks from inital request. 
  8. An e-mail will be sent by the Student Body Comptroller notifiying requesting organizations that their request has either passed or failed.
