The 2008 Election Results Are In

Student Body President - Kody Tinnel

Vice President of Legislation - Melissa Cornish

Vice President of Finance - Erik Shepherd

Vice President of Programming - TBA in May by Special Election

In the past, IPSGA has been responsible for bringing many new student services to campus: a student discount package, freshman mentoring program, picnic tables, microwaves and TV's in student lounges, child care service, free tutoring, used book sales, increased student representation on university and faculty decision-making bodies, a student emergency loan program, 24-hour computer access within the library's lounge area, and funding for many student organizations on campus. We also offer a rental program for the TI-86 calculator and Cannon Rebel traditional 35mm cameras for our fellow students.
Within IPSGA, one of the responsibilities of our Student Body President, Aaron, is to select students as representatives on University and faculty committees. Please, contact your President of IPSGA to ask for an appointment to one of the following committees: Academic Advising, Affirmative Action, Aged and the Aging, AIDS Information, Athletics, Biological Hazards, Calendar, Campus Appeals, Campus Safety, Campus Traffic Appeals, Campus Communications, Care and Use of Disabilities Advisory, Honors Program, Human Subjects for Research, International Studies, Lecture and Financial Aid, Student Affairs, Student Orientation, Substance Abuse, University Hazard Management, University Resources Policy, Wellness Council, and Women's Studies.

These committees and other IPSGA positions enable you to interact with campus administrators and faculty and have a voice with direct impact on campus issues and policies.

In fact, IPSGA would like as many students as possible to have a voice on this campus. Most committee appointments are made at the beginning of the fall semester, although others may arise throughout the year. You do not have to be a member of IPSGA to be considered for a committee appointment

The Student Senate and the Student Activities Board (SAB) meet regularly throughout the year. These meetings are open to all students and we encourage you to attend. IPSGA is constantly in need of involvement by students who are neither afraid to speak their minds nor afraid of controversy. If this describes you and you would like to have a voice at your university, please come by the IPSGA Office for additional information. The Office is open regular business hours, between 8am and 5pm, and is located in Walb 225; just above the Information Desk! Come on by!
