What is a graduate teaching assistantship?
Our division typically offers one graduate teaching assistantship per semester. This appointment includes a stipend for teaching a 3 credit hour course in the student’s area of interest as well as fee remission for that semester.
What course does a graduate teaching assistant teach?
The graduate teaching assistant will teach a course from the following: SPEA E162, Environment and People; SPEA J101, The American Criminal Justice System; SPEA H120, Contemporary Health Issues; or SPEA V170, Introduction to Public Affairs.
How much does a graduate teaching assistant earn ?
The 2007-2008 stipend is $3,080.00 per semester for a .25 FTE (teaching one 3 credit hour course) graduate teaching assistant.
What is the tuition rate for a graduate teaching assistant ?
The 2007-2008 graduate teaching assistant fees:
- Students who were admitted prior to Summer 2006 will pay $612 per semester plus $23.35 per credit hour.
- Other students will pay $612 per semester plus $25.90 per credit hour .

How may I apply ?
To apply for a 2008-2009 graduate teaching assistantship, please notify Dr. Brian Fife at fifeb@ipfw.edu of your interest no later than March 7, 2008. You must be a regularly admitted graduate student in the Division of Public and Environmental Affairs to be considered for one of these positions.
