IPFW
Athletics continues to set the example in
soccer across the country, as this year marks the
7th annual IPFW Soccer Showcase, Aug. 17–19, at the Hefner Soccer Fields.
The IPFW Soccer Showcase hosts the nation’s best soccer programs — both men and women. In seven years the Showcase has:
• Always featured the
men’s teams from the previous season’s NCAA Championship
match;
• Hosted
more than 40 different men’s and women’s teams from the Big
East, Atlantic 10, Horizon, Mid-Con, Big Ten, MAC, Pac 10, and Conference
USA; and
• Consistently brought in teams from the NCAA Division
I Soccer top 25 rankings.
Last season the Showcase featured UCLA and Indiana in a record weekend-crowd of more than 15,000. It continues to grow in prominence as the best preseason event of its kind.
Once again, a collection of top-notch high school games will be featured on the schedule. Snider High School girls will host a 10-team invitational with teams from all over the state, beginning on Thursday and finishing on Saturday. Northrop boys will have a four-team tournament on Saturday, featuring teams in northeast Indiana. Finally, Canterbury and Homestead boys will play host to North Central and Carmel. Many of the high school teams participating in the IPFW Soccer Showcase have a reputation for excelling in the IHSAA State Tournament. These players are the future of collegiate soccer, and we are very proud to showcase the talent from Fort Wayne and the state of Indiana.
Kidz Soccer Fest gives youth soccer players a chance to participate in interactive games and fun inflatables. Cost for this event is $10 for a family of four and includes a Showcase program, access to Kidz Soccer Fest, games, prizes, and tickets to Thursday night’s Showcase games.
