Q. What is FERPA?
Answer: Once you begin classes at the university, all of your records including, but not limited to, academic records, financial records, medical records, etc., are protected by the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). This law, in working to protect your privacy, can appear to be a roadblock to family members or can work as a catalyst for parents and students to communicate about things like grades and bills. Specific questions about FERPA should be directed to the Registrar.

The university's portal — my.IPFW — is your link to WebMail, WebCT, OASIS (how you register for classes), student calendar of events, academic info, financial info and Helmke Library.
