SCOA Meeting September 14, 2005

Members Present: Lowell Beineke, Elliott Blumenthal, Arthur Friedel, Kimberley McDonald, David Oberstar, Abbie Renaker, and Robert Vandell (late). Tim Heffron,Guest.

I. Arthur Friedel called the meeting to order at 11.20 AM.

II. Lowell Beineke nominated Robert Vandell to chair the committee. It was seconded and passed on a voice vote. Since R. Vandell was not present, A. Friedel continued to preside at the meeting.

III. Tim Heffron presented the information regarding the affiliation of the women’s soccer team with the United Soccer Conference. It will involve two weekends of play. One of the weekends will be at Utah Valley State. It will give motivation to the women’s team. There will be an automatic bid to for a member of the conference to play in the NCAA tournament.

            Lowell Beineke moved and it was seconded that we approve the affiliation of the women’s soccer team with the United Soccer Conference. It passed on a voice vote. This item will be sent to the Student Affairs Committee for presentation to the Faculty Senate.
