Connell P. Nelson, Director of International Services;

 discussed the new Immigration and Naturalization Services rules and regulations that will affect those international students applying to and enroll at IPFW. Among the topics discussed were the new INS imposed student tracking system SEVIS and how it will impact not only IPFW but the international arena as a whole. We also talked about how the changes will affect how advisors will need to advise students and ways to inform the Faculty and Staff of IPFW about these changes. Ways of communicating these new changes that were suggested by the committee were;

      1) the IS director meet with the departments

      2) send the changes to the Department chairs to share with their respective chairs

      3) create a brochure that summarizes the changes and distribute on campus.
