Calendar Subcommittee

Present:  Prasad Bingi, Shirley Champion, James Haw (chair), Judith Lemire, Patrick McLaughlin, Julie Nothnagel, Amy Silvestri, Susan Skekloff, Susan Byers (guest), David Wood (guest)

 

Absent:  Hosni Abu-Mulaweh

 

Susan Byers and David Wood briefed the subcommittee on plans to offer Weekend College classes in the summer beginning in summer 2004.  It was agreed that the calendar formula document, the academic calendars for 2003-2004 and 2004-2005, and the proposed academic calendar for 2005-2006 would need to be amended to include summer Weekend College courses.  Drafts of all of these documents were discussed, and tentative agreement was reached on revised wording.  James Haw will prepare revised drafts and circulate them for comment before a final vote of the subcommittee is taken.

Present:  Hosni Abu-Mulaweh, James Haw, Patrick McLaughlin, Julie Nothnagel, Amy Silvestri, Susan Skekloff

 

Absent:  Shirley Champion, Judith Lemire

 

James Haw, Convenor, called the meeting to order.

 

The Subcommittee elected James Haw chair for the current year.

 

Hosni Abu-Mulawi moved and the Subcommittee unanimously approved the election of Prasad Bingi to fill the vacancy arising from the departure from the University of Rajiv Kashyap, whose term ends in 2003. 

 

Patrick McLaughlin distributed to the members a copy of revisions to the final examination schedule that were made by the Subcommittee, in consultation with the Registrar, last year.

 

Agenda items for the coming year were discussed.  The only item currently on the agenda is the draft academic calendar for 2005-2006.
