September 19, 2000.

Present: Brian, J., Broberg, H., Hess, L., Isiorho, S., Meyer, L., Stockstill,

M., and Conklin, D.

Absent: Peffenberger, D. (on Sabbatical)

1. Solomon Isiorho was elected Chair and Jacque Brian was elected Secretary. The following additional members were present: Lucille Hess, Hal Broberg, Linda Meyer, Mike Stockstill, and Deb Conklin.

2. Solomon will contact Barb Blauvelt to find out the procedure for replacing Lucy Hess and Hal Broberg for spring semester. They both will be on sabbatical then.

3.Mike and Deb gave us a recap on the reference document sent to the Senate on the difference in compensation for the faculty and corresponding department. They reported there is a shift toward distance learning. 582 enrollments were in distance learning this fall. Initially, these classes have an increased drop rate. Survey results showed that about one-half of the students enrolled in distance learning courses would not have taken the same course on campus.

Non-Credit courses:

They have been expanding in the area of corporate training. Examples are with the Auburn Foundry, and Lincoln Life. Also, the project management series started one year ago and ITT has asked for two "in house" programs.

They are also talking about reformatting the MBA program to change in the delivery method with targeting industries in NE Indiana. This will start in July, 2001.

The newest program is the OLS and Human Resource Management.

The Continuing Education division overall is in great shape.

Deb Conklin will be the acting director.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:40 p.m.

Sincerely submitted,

Jacque
