Guest: Kelley Hartley

Members absent: Walt Bowman, John Cochren, Randy Spicer, Charles Washington

The convener reported that regrets at not being able to attend due to prior commitments were received from Walt Bowman, John Cochren, and Randy Spicer. It was agreed that since Charles Washington has left IPFW, a new Alumni Representative should be appointed.

The Monday noontime athletic lunches, open to all interested persons, will be in Walb 224 starting at 11:45 each week. (Committee members are encouraged to attend.)

As Faculty Representative, Elliott reported that exit interviews with student athletes are being instituted. He also raised the question of student evaluations of coaches and programs.

Dave Skelton, Compliance Coordinator, reported that new forms are being used with student athletes and their instructors (copies attached). Study-skills workshops and study tables will be a part of the program for student-athletes, and will be required for some.

The duties of the Subcommittee (copy attached), as found in the Senate By-Laws, were reviewed. Copies of the last several budgets were requested for the next meeting.

Carl will call the next meeting, probably in early October. The meeting adjourned at 12:40.
