MINUTES OF THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SUBCOMMITTEE
December 9, 1998

Members: E. Blumenthal, J. Brian, M. Codispoti, S. Hannah, L. Hite, D. Legg, J. Moore, D. Oberstar

After several unofficial meetings, the committee met to approve the following recommendations to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs:

Summer Grants for Instructional Development: 4 applications received, 2 awarded.

IPFW Summer Grants for Research: 23 applications received, 10 awarded with 5 ranked alternates.

PRF Summer Faculty Grants: 23 applications received, 8 ranked excellent, 7 ranked very good, and 8 ranked satisfactory. These will be forwarded to W. Lafayette for final approval.

MINUTES OF THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SUBCOMMITTEE

PRESENT: Legg (Chair), Blumenthal, Codispoti, Hite
ABSENT: Moore, Oberstar

1. The committee was told that Professor Ushenko resigned from the committee in order to apply for a sabbatical. A replacement will be sought.

2. After deliberation, 28 applications for sabbaticals were approved. Moore and Oberstar indicated their approval by e-mail to the chair prior to the meeting.

3. The next meeting time was set for November 12, 1998 at noon in SB 372. We will consider international travel grants and begin considering summer grant proposals at that time.

4. The meeting adjourned at 11:40 a.m.
