1999 IPFW OUTSTANDING ADVISOR AWARD
Presented to an individual who has demonstrated qualities associated
with outstanding academic advising of students.

Award

A winner will be honored at the 1999 IPFW Academic Advising Conference on February 22, 1999. He/she will receive a certificate and a $500 professional development award.

Categories

1. Individual whose primary role at IPFW is the direct delivery of student advising services.

2. Individual who serves as an advisor (such as faculty or administrator) but whose primary

role at the institution is something other than the direct delivery of student advising

services.

Criteria

The Selection Committee composed of five members (one from each area of Business Affairs, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Academic Advising Subcommittee) will evaluate nominations on the evidence of effective advising qualities and practices that distinguish the nominee as an outstanding academic advisor. Nominations must contain adequate factual or descriptive material to describe the extent to which an individual meets the awards criteria. Include the following items and use objective data to support the nomination.

1. A completed Nomination Form.

2. A summary of the nominee=s qualifications. The nominator should summarize the extent to which the nominee meets award criteria, citing letters of support, data, or other materials illustrative of exemplary performance as an advisor.

3. Appendices that support the summary such as copies of nominee=s evaluations; representative materials developed by the nominee; letters of support from advisees, colleagues, and administrators.
