2. The members discussed the responses to the questionnaire which had been sent to departments. These discussions focused on the points raised in connection with Foundation Skills.

3. The Subcommittee allocated 30 minutes of time at its next meeting to continuing the discussion (See #2) and 30 minutes to the consideration of new course proposals: two from Sociology/Anthropology and one each from Education and Psychology.

3. The Subcommittee began its discussion of the Ashville document but delayed detailed consideration of its contents until its next meeting. Members also agreed to consider the criteria to be applied in the review criteria at that meeting which is scheduled for 12:00 noon, 25 January 1999, in the Arts and Sciences Conference Room.

1. The Subcommittee considered and approved NUR 309, 5 yea-3 nay.

2. The Subcommittee considered and deferred action on NUR 339 pending consideration of the course manual and POLS S401-01 Honors in expectation of receiving additional information about the course project.

3. The Subcommittee did not begin discussing the Ashville document but intends to do so at its next meeting, scheduled for 7 December 1998 at 12:00 noon in the Arts and Sciences Conference Room.

1. The Subcommittee considered the following course proposals: PHYS 302, PSY 365, SPEA K300, AFRO A210, and CMLT C217. It approved PSY 365 and AFRO A210 unanimously and CMLT C217, 6 yes - 1 no. It declined to approve SPEA K300 on a tie vote and PHYS 302 unanimously.

2. The Subcommittee will meet next 2 November 1998 at 12:00 noon in the Arts and Sciences Conference Room.
