Those present included Gail Hickey, Beill Klemme, and Martha Weatherford. Due to a lack of quorum, no chair was elected. As immediate past chair, Dr. Hickey will call the next meeting, when there will be another attempt to elect a chair.

Items discussed include possible priorities for the current year:

• Bill Klemme noted the need to track and assist international students with university paperwork which must be completed in a timely fashion (deadlines occur while students are out of the country, making it impossible or difficult for them to comply with these deadlines).
• Martha Weatherford advised of the need to train someone this year for Phil Kennell's position. Questions concerning the position were raised: will the search be internal, or external? will members of the International Studies Committee be involved in the search?

It was requested that these two items be placed on the agenda for the next scheduled meeting.
