SubjectBudgetary Affairs Subcommittee: Funding for the 1997-1999 biennium

Disposition: To the Presiding Officer for implementation

The University Resources Policy Committee (URPC) approved the attached 

document on "Funding for the 1997-1999 biennium" at its meeting on December 2, 1996.
The original document was submitted to URPC  by the Budgetary Affairs Subcommittee for
consideration.  The URPC made one amendment to the document: to delete the last paragraph
of the document as indicated below and to replace it with the text in bold.  The new
paragraph was agreed to unanimously by the members in attendance (8 approving and 0 
disapproving).
The IPFW Faculty Senate requests Purdue University West Lafayette
administrators, in consultation with the IPFW administration, to immediately
develop a plan for remedying this severe underfunding and further, that the IPFW
Senate receive a report on this plan as soon as possible but no later than
January 15, 1997.
The Fort Wayne Senate recommends that the IPFW administration work with Purdue
University West Lafayette administrators to develop a strategic approach to solve the
long-term problem of underfunding at the Fort Wayne Campus.
With this change the URPC recommends the approval of the attached document.
